The Tunisian railway network consists of 23 lines, with a total length of 2,177 km:
467 km of standard gauge lines (1.437 m) of which 6 km of Line E of the Rapid Railway Network (between Tunis – Bougatfa) which are electrified.
1,701 km of metric gauge lines (1 m), of which 90 km (65 km between Sousse Bab Jedid – Mahdia & 25 km between Tunis – Erriadh) are electrified.
9 km of mixed gauge lines (standard and metric).
The operating network length is 1,803 km:
1,571 km of single-track lines.
232 km of double-track lines.
In addition, the railway network includes 203 stations, stops, and halts. It also features rail-road connections aimed at promoting bimodal passenger transport combining rail and road services (currently suspended).
