Good Governance Unit

The Good Governance Unit was established pursuant to internal memorandum (G.M.) No. 70 dated December 23, 2016, in implementation of the provisions of Government Decree No. 1158 of 2016, dated August 12, 2016, relating to the creation of governance units and the definition of their responsibilities.

  • Ensuring the proper implementation of governance principles and the prevention of corruption within the company, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promoting a culture of governance, transparency, integrity, and sound management, and ensuring compliance with codes of conduct, professional ethics, and the proper application of procedural manuals.
  • Organizing seminars related to governance and anti-corruption, and representing the company before bodies and structures concerned with governance and the fight against corruption.
  • Providing opinions on training programs and strengthening the capacities of the company’s staff, especially in the fields of governance and anti-corruption.
  • Strengthening the company’s relationship with civil society within the framework of promoting a participatory and consultative approach.
  • Providing opinions on draft legal and regulatory texts, whether submitted to the company for consultation or proposed by it. The Governance Unit also issues opinions on all matters related to governance referred to it.
  • Proposing mechanisms and procedures to ensure the optimal use of available resources in accordance with governance principles.
  • Handling whistleblowing cases and following them up while maintaining professional confidentiality and ensuring non-disclosure of information pending investigation results.
  • Monitoring corruption cases, the measures taken regarding them, their outcomes, and related statistics, whether under audit or subject to oversight missions.
  • Coordinating with structures responsible for professional ethics, quality, citizen relations, and e-government in matters related to the unit’s core missions.
  • Coordinating, cooperating, and consulting with the services in charge of governance at the Presidency of the Government and the central governance unit of the supervising ministry.
